The Board of Directors is the governing and day-to-day management body of the cooperative society. It is composed of ten (10) members elected by secret ballot and by a majority of the votes of the General Assembly, among the delegates. This office includes a President, a Vice President, a Secretary General and his four (4) deputies, a Treasurer General and his Deputy and a Councilor. The board of directors may be assisted by one or more advisers. The members of the board of directors are the directors of the cooperative society. The Board of Directors recruits a director or manager in charge of the day-to-day management of the cooperative society.
He is particularly responsible for:
• Direct the activities of the cooperative society in accordance with the decisions of the general assembly
• Apply the sanctions provided for in the statutes;
• Manage staff;
• Develop rules of procedure and budgets and submit them to the general assembly;
• Represent the cooperative society;
• Ensure the smooth running of the cooperative society;
• Provisionally decide the admission or exclusion of partners;
• Convene the Annual General Meeting or the Section Meetings if necessary;
• Assure the responsibility for maintaining the accounts of the cooperative society;
• Take all necessary measures to safeguard the funds, assets, property, stocks and equipment of the cooperatives
